Shipley, West Yorkshire
Shipley Medical Practice appointed Apollo in 2004 to explore the redevelopment options for the existing PCT owned Heath Centre located in the heart of Shipley town centre. The key to unlocking the scheme was identifying suitable temporary accommodation which was finally resolved in 2006 with a combination of portacabins for the clinical services and the practice taking separate office accommodation for the support staff.
The new 3 storey building was designed to make best use of the site's central location which would enable services to be provided locally and to the wider north Bradford community. This 2600m2 building, with 35 car parking spaces, took 15 months to construct and was completed in November 2007. It provides:
-
Premises for the 8 GP practice
-
Clinical and operational accommodation for the Bradford & Airedale Teaching PCT
-
Pharmacy
-
Dentistry
-
Minor Surgery
-
Self contained clinical suite
The building users have expansion space to provide modern integrated health services.
