Apollo Capital Projects was appointed by Swansea LHB and the Practice to provide a new integrated Primary Care Centre for Clydach.  A site had been identified in the centre of the community and Apollo took the scheme through a rigorous design process including AEDET, NEAT, Design Commission and Planning.  The scheme was given Welsh Assembly approval and was the first to go through the Design for Life process.

This new 2 storey building extends to 1,700 sqm and utilises a contemporary design while using local materials.  The Cwm Nant Lleici stone on the elevations was quarried only 3 miles away in Pontadawe and the artwork internally was produced by the local school children and an artist from Pembrokeshire.

The project took 34 months to complete from appointment to completion with construction taking 10 months.  Clydach Primary Care Centre was opened to the public in April 2009 and provides:

• Premises for an 8 GP Training Practice
• Trust Therapies and Community Staff
• Minor Operations
• Chronic Disease Management Suite
• Pharmacy
