The Building Better Healthcare Awards are the UK’s leading healthcare specific annual awards ceremony. This year 650 industry professionals attended the event at The Brewery in the City of London on the 1st of November.
Of the four schemes shortlisted as Finalists for ‘Best Primary Care Building Design’ one was Apollo’s Two Rivers scheme in Ipswich, which integrates two merged practices serving 25,00 patients on a prime site adjacent to Ipswich Hospital.
Apollo’s, hub West Scotland (hWS) health and social care Joint Venture, Maryhill Health Centre was also a Finalist. The Maryhill scheme integrates multiple practices with health and social care, on a challenging but very accessible extra urban site in the City of Glasgow.
The Winner was Eastwood Health & Care Centre, another hWs Apollo JV project! This major project on the south side integrates multiple practices and NHS services, with East Renfrewshire Council Social Work Services and hot desk facilities. This multi award winning scheme also has a community café at it’s heart, which is run as a social enterprise.
Johnny Dryburgh, Apollo’s Chief Executive attended the event and said; “I’m absolutely delighted that Apollo schemes comprise 3/4 of the Finalists for the Best Primary Care Building Design in this national competition, and that Eastwood Health & Care Centre won. It’s a testament not only to the specialist skills and experience the Apollo team deploys across the UK, and procurement teams; but of course to our fantastic GP, NHS & Local Authority clients who’s dedication and determination is key to all we do.”
