Old Kilpatrick Medical Practice, West Dunbartonshire

Client Objectives

  • Provide modern, high-quality premises for village medical practice in suburban location, providing more space and significantly improved clinical, patient and staff facilities
  • Enable the practice to continue to operate while the redevelopment took place on the site

Development Solution

  • Modern building providing a step change in terms of space, clinical standards and patient and staff environment
  • Development work completed in two phases allowing the practice to remain in its existing location while the new premises were built on the extended site
  • Ground-floor clinical accommodation
  • The modern practice building provides three-and-a-half times more space than the previous building, built in the late 1940s
  • Apollo commissioned graphic art and signage featuring local landmarks such as the Forth and Clyde Canal and River Clyde to give the premises a sense of place within the community
  • A montage of artefacts from the old practice building is displayed on the wall of the new premises as a reminder of its past history

The quality of workmanship throughout the new surgery was superb. Only high-quality materials were used and completion involved thoughtful, tasteful, decorative artwork portraying scenes of local interest.
